Royal experts Christina Garibaldi and Molly Mullshine of US weekly spoke on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s attitude towards being mocked. The presenters agreed they enjoyed the jokes of Cedric The Entertainer during the Emmys as he made fun of both Meghan and Harry. The royal commentators noted that being in the public eye as a celebrity came with it an expectation of occasionally being ridiculed.

Ms Garibaldi said: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were the talk of the Emmys even though they weren’t there and didn’t win.

“They were a butt of some of the jokes. What do you think of Cedric the Entertainer’s jokes?

“Do you think Meghan and Harry found them funny or are they not that happy about that?”

Ms Mulshine replied: “I don’t think Meghan and Harry find much funny.

“That is just an impression I get, I mean Cedric is probably lucky if he didn’t get a cease and desist letter.

“It is an award show, people get roasted, fair is fair and I loved his joke about Tik Tok.

“That is how it is when you are in the public eye.”

Ms Garibaldi admitted she agreed and that the couple would have to get used to a level of ridicule while in the public eye.

She said: “I think so too, as you said I don’t think they find a lot of this funny but I mean that is what kind of comes with the territory.

“They are kind of shifting into that more celebrity lifestyle rather than royals.

“If you want to attend these award shows, have these book deals and Netflix deals it kind of comes with the territory.

“This is especially true when you are such big public figures.”
