Meghan Markle feels Kate ‘mistreated her and got away with it’ says source

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rumours discussed by Schofield

Tensions between Meghan Markle and Princess Kate have been boiling over since before the former TV actress got married to Prince Harry in 2018, according to the Duke himself.

One now infamous incident occurred, according to Harry’s memoir Spare, when Meghan, 41, claimed Princess Kate, also 41, made her cry just days before her and Harry’s Royal Windsor wedding.

Five years later and the alleged spat is still in the news with a source claiming that the Duchess of Sussex feels Kate and Prince William, 41, haven’t taken responsibility for the tiff.

“Meghan feels they’ve never been held accountable for the way they treated her when she was part of the royals, have never apologized and have seemingly got away with it,” said a source, according to The Mirror.

The Duchess reportedly thought people would sympathise with her and Prince Harry following their Netflix documentary which details the way the couple were allegedly treated by The Firm.

The alleged 2018 incident first came to light in the form of reports which claimed Meghan had made the Princess of Wales cry ahead of her wedding. However, in 2021, Meghan went on Oprah to tell the world the opposite was true.

“It made me cry and it really hurt my feelings, and I thought in the context of everything else that was going on in those days leading to the wedding that it didn’t make sense to not be just doing what everyone else was doing, which was try to be supportive, knowing what was going on with my dad and whatnot,” Meghan told the US TV megastar.

The Duchess claimed that Princess Kate had apologised and sent her flowers after the incident. Meghan also said she had “forgiven” her sister-in-law.

In January of this year, Prince Harry dove into the alleged row in more detail in his tell-all memoir Spare. The Duke claimed that he had come in to find Meghan “crying on the floor” after she and Kate had an argument ahead of the wedding.

Harry wrote that the pair had disagreed over the size of Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress which Kate had wanted Meghan to sort out but the Duchess was dealing with the news her father Thomas Markle wouldn’t be attending their wedding.

The couple have since moved to Montecito, California after splitting with the rest of the Royals in 2020.
