The paparazzi caused Meghan to break down in tears not long after the couple’s relationship was revealed back in 2016. With interest in Meghan quickly mounting press were quick to publish photos of Meghan’s family members and explore Meghan’s personal life. Now, in a brand new upcoming royal biography titled Finding Freedom, the authors revealed one set of images made the Duchess cry.
The British press published photos of Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland going to the laundry mat.
The book explains how a tabloid published the series unflattering photos pushing the narrative of a struggling woman in a rough part of LA.
Meghan remained silent publicly, following the royal mantra of “never complain, never explain.”
However, the book claims that behind the scenes, Meghan was in tears.
Worried he might lose her, Harry quickly tried to protect her.
The photo led to the prince’s unprecedented statement to the press asking for privacy for Meghan.
The statement read: “Since he was young, Prince Harry has been very aware of the warmth that has been extended to him by members of the public.
“He feels lucky to have so many people supporting him and knows what a fortunate and privileged life he leads.

“He is also aware that there is significant curiosity about his private life.
“He has never been comfortable with this, but he has tried to develop a thick skin about the level of media interest that comes with it.
“He has rarely taken formal action on the very regular publication of fictional stories that are written about him and he has worked hard to develop a professional relationship with the media, focused on his work and the issues he cares about.
“But the past week has seen a line crossed. His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.”

The statement also detailed the trauma of “her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door and “the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life.”
Despite the issues with paparazzi early on in Harry and Meghan’s relationship, their bond with Meghan’s mother appears to be stronger than ever.
The Sun recently reported that Meghan’s beloved mother Doria is believed to have moved in with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and to have become a helping hand in the care of their son, Archie Harrison.
They said: “Doria has her own quarters and whilst a few of Harry’s chums have been ribbing him about living with his mother-in-law, he has a brilliant relationship with her.”
As they relocated to Los Angeles in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Meghan, Prince Harry and Archie haven’t had the chance to spend much time with Doria over the past few months.
The first chance for Meghan to meet again her mother reportedly presented on a very special day.
On Mother’s Day, celebrated in the US on May 10, the Sussexes reunited with Doria.
The couple hosted a safe and socially-distanced family gathering, OprahMag.com wrote at the time.
Meghan and Doria are known to be very close, with a source previously telling People magazine about Meghan’s childhood.
They said: “Meghan didn’t have much when she was a child, but her mum made sure they always gave back.”
Meghan, Prince Harry and Archie crossed the Canadian border in late March, a few days before officially stepping down as senior royals.
While dutifully abiding by the stay at home order and the social-distance measures still in place in LA, the couple also managed to continue to work on causes close to their heart via video calls.
