Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to the US earlier this year after completing their final duties as senior royals. Their trip came after months of dissatisfaction with their position and saw them first arrive in Canada before leaving for Los Angeles. The regular journeys will have seen the Duchess regularly utilise a packing hack she revealed to Prince Harry when they started dating.
When the Duke and Duchess first started seeing one another, Prince Harry whisked his soon-to-be girlfriend to Africa.
In the book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed the eventual Duchess’ organisation “impressed” the Prince.
They added she had always taken pride in being a “great packer” with her methods.
They wrote: “Extremely organised, Meghan immediately impressed Harry with her packing skills.”
“She has always taken pride in being a great packer – going as far as layering dryer sheets in between her clothes to keep them smelling fresh and no matter her destination always bringing tea-tree oil for bites, cuts, and pimples – and her skills were appreciated by the prince.”]
The Duchess also wrote about the habit in her now-defunct blog The Tig.
She said it makes “your clothes will smell fresh when you arrive — and especially when you return home.”
As well as keeping clothes fresh, the sheets also prevent a build-up of static.
She expanded on another packing mainstay in the same blog.
The Duchess wrote about tea tree oil in 2014, which she said she uses for multiple purposes.
She said the liquid is a vital cure-all for trips abroad.
She added she brings the “inexpensive” oil with her “all the time”.

She wrote: “The one thing that I cannot live without when I’m travelling is a small container of tea tree oil.
“It’s not the most glamorous thing, but if you get a cut, a mosquito bite, a small breakout, no matter what it is, it’s my little cure-all.
“It’s inexpensive, it’s small enough to carry on, and I bring it with me all the time.”
She also wrote about another tip from Leonardo DiCaprio vital for embarking on long flights.
The future Duchess wrote in another post: “A dear friend of mine once told me that Leonardo DiCaprio gave her an excellent travel tip,” she wrote.
“I know – I could have written an entire post on this conversation alone.
“What is it, you ask? Evidently, he said that to avoid getting sick on planes, he puts a little Neosporin on a cotton swab and coats the inside of his nostrils.”
These tips likely came in handy during the Duchess’ various duties as a senior royal, which saw her and her husband traversing the globe.
