The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow covering three UK regions with millions braced for a -5C freeze.

A Yellow Warning has been annonced for Northern Ireland, with North West England and Wales also affected, as blizzard-like conditions are set to hit Britain over the next few days.

A statement from the meteorological body said: “Snow showers will become more frequent through Monday, continuing to feed in on northwesterly winds overnight. Accumulations of a couple of centimetres are possible at low levels, with higher ground expected to see 5-10 cm in places. In addition, icy stretches are likely to form following showers.”
