A minute’s silence will be held in the Commons just before today’s Prime Minister’s Questions in honour of Captain Sir Tom Moore.
The NHS fundraising hero died yesterday aged 100 after battling with coronavirus and pneumonia in hospital over the past few days.
MPs will also observe their silence in memory of all victims of the pandemic.
Tributes have flooded in for Sir Tom, who raised nearly £33million for the NHS after completing 100 laps of his garden in time for his 100th birthday in April.
The World War Two veteran became a national treasure for helping health workers and uplifting the nation’s spirits as it struggled with the first wave of the coronavirus outbreak.
