Buckingham Palace grew concerned of the threat Meghan Markle represented to Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family, as she stole the show during an official visit to Australia.

In the fourth episode of the new Netflix series, Prince Harry said: “The issue is when someone who’s marrying in, who should be a supporting act, is then stealing the limelight, or is doing the job better than the person who is born to do this.

“That upsets people. It shifts the balance.

“Because you’ve been led to believe that the only way that your charities can succeed and the only way that your reputation can be grown or improved is if you’re on the front page of those newspapers.”

Putting the blame on the media, Harry added: “But the media are the ones who choose who to put on the front page.

“First time that the penny dropped for her, M and I spent the night in a room in Buckingham Palace after an event where every single member of the family had been, including the Queen.”

Meghan then said: “The next morning, they’d set up breakfast for Harry and I. And on the front page of The Telegraph, Meghan.

“I went, ‘Oh my God’.”

Reflecting on Meghan’s reaction, Prince Harry said: “She was like, ‘But it’s not my fault’.”

A friend of the couple, Lucy Fraser, described the trip to Australia as a “turning point” as the Sussexes became “so popular” with the public that it sent the Royal Palace on crisis mode.

Australian fans chanted “Meghan” as she greeted them during a foreign visit as a working member of the Royal Family.

The Royal visit was all over the news, with Meghan dominating headlines. While the the Daily Beast’s headlines said “Meghan Marke and Prince Harry are widly popular. That could be a problem”, Piers Morgan’s voice can be heard saying: “She’s becoming a royal rock star – bigger, I would argue, as a couple, than William and Kate.”
