Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, is trying to heal the rift between the royal brothers Prince William and Prince Harry after their fallout over Megxit. According to Kate’s uncle Gary Goldsmith, she is in the best position to “bring peace to the royals” and will be acting as a mediator for the brothers.
Mr Goldsmith told Closer magazine: “If anyone can bring peace to the royals, Kate can. Kate is a brilliant arbiter and peacemaker.
“Every bone in her body is about making friends and doing the best she can. She’s trying to mediate.”
He also spoke about the images of Kate and Prince Harry talking together outside the funeral of Prince Philip.
“You could see that at the funeral Kate was there trying to make peace, bringing the brothers together.”
“Harry and Kate were great friends, they were a trio with William and a strong unit. Family and relationships are everything to Kate.”
Until Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle branched off to create their own foundation, the trio had worked together on the Kensington Royal Foundation for several years.
Kate, William and Harry had also orchestrated the Heads Together Campaign to reflect their common interest in mental health.
Kate’s uncle added: “She’s very nurturing, so she wouldn’t like what’s happening and she is trying to look after her husband and do what she can to make things right.”
The relationship between the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex has been strained since Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping back from their positions as senior royals.
The announcement took members of the Royal Family by surprise and led to a crisis meeting at the so-called ‘Sandringham Summit’, in which Prince William played a key role.
Since then, Prince Harry has gone on to speak publicly about his experiences as a senior royal and his strained relationship with his brother and father.
When speaking to Oprah Winfrey in a bombshell interview in March, he characterised his relationship with Prince William as “space”.
He also said that whilst they’d always remain brothers, they were “on different paths”.
In later interviews, he expanded on his current relationship with the Royal Family and criticised his father’s parenting skills.

He accused the Royal Family of “total neglect” in terms of mental health and told Oprah how their requests for mental health support had been ignored.
This had resulted in Meghan feeling suicidal whilst she was pregnant with their first child.
He revealed that they had been cut off financially, denied security and that Prince Charles had stopped taking his calls.
Although Prince William and Prince Harry displayed a united front during the funeral of their grandfather, discussions behind closed doors have reportedly been unproductive.
The two brothers and Kate are next due to reunite on July 1 for the unveiling of a statue at Kensington Palace that is dedicated to their mother, Princess Diana.
