Police scrambled to Liverpool station after reports of man being ‘slashed’

A man, in his 40s, has been taken to hospital following an assault in the city centre. Emergency services were called at around 7.40pm.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “”The offender made off in the direction of Hanover Street.

“An investigation is underway and witness and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.”

It follows reports the man suffered a slash wound to his arm, according to the Liverpool Echo.
