Names for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new baby girl are still much debated by the public, but a royal expert has weighed in on her opinion. Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, confirmed the sex of the child during their bombshell tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month.

Angela Levin, a royal biographer, told The Mirror: “I’m sure they will call her Diana.

“I think Harry would love that, and Meghan would be very proud because she would bring Diana close to him.

“What would be extraordinary is if the baby was born within a few days of the unveiling of Diana’s statue in the summer.”

The statue of Diana is due to be unveiled on July 1 in Kensington Palace by her sons Prince William and Harry.

It is believed that the brothers who live on different sides of the Atlantic will reunite in person for the first time at the unveiling of their mother’s statue.

Sources inside the Royal Family said “both camps are prepared to come together” and put on a “united front” for the unveiling of the statue.

Meghan and Harry said the addition of a daughter this summer will complete their family, with Meghan saying during the Oprah Interview: “Two is it.”

Ms Levin said: “I don’t think they will use a royal name that has been part of the name of a previous royal who is no longer with us.

“They could try to find something maybe in Greek that will let them have another foundation.”

The name of their son Archie was taken from the Greek word “arche” meaning “source of action” and also inspired the name of their non-profit organization the Archewell foundation.

Ms Levin added: “I think Meghan’s age means she would be delighted to have a child that is very healthy.

“There’s always a belief that if you have two children of the same sex they can play with each other and be very close, for example like Harry was with William.
