However other social media users praised the leading royals and remarked on how beautiful their Highgrove garden looks. It comes as the fallout continues from the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ incendiary CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Clarence House Twitter account posted a picture of Charles and Camilla in the garden of their Highgrove estate.
Camilla is wearing a functional black coat whilst Charles opted for a smart brown jacket and blue shirt.
The Duchess is holding a bunch of flowers whilst the couple gaze into each other’s eyes.
Flowers can be seen along the floor with a hedgerow and trees behind.
Along with the photograph the Clarence House account tweeted: “Wishing you a happy and healthy first day of Spring.
“The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in the garden at Highgrove.”
The photograph was also posted on the official Clarence House and Highgrove Instagram accounts.
However some social media users were more critical in their replies.
One posted: “Bring on the Republic!! Abolition of monarchy possibly the only way to keep the UK together.”
Another, referencing Charles’ former wife, wrote: “All Diana ever wanted was to be loved.”
However most Twitter replies were positive praising the couple and their garden.

The Royal Family has been in crisis mode since Ms Winfrey’s interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex earlier this month.
Meghan revealed she’s suffered loneliness and suicidal thoughts since marrying into the royals in 2018.
She also alleged there were “concerns and conversations” within the family about Archie’s skin colour before he was born.
In response Buckingham Palace issued a statement on behalf of the Queen saying the issues they raised were “concerning” and would be dealt with “privately” by the family.
Meghan and Harry are currently living in California having stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family in March 2020.
