Currently, he is being educated at Thomas’s School in Battersea, south west London. However he could follow his father and study at Ludgrove School in Berkshire.

Both William and Harry began attending the school when aged eight.

Speaking to the Daily Mail an insider said the Cambridges have been checking out schools in Berkshire.

They said: “Nothing has been decided and of course they could very well decide to keep the children at Thomas’s, but William and Kate have recently visited schools in the Berkshire area, which has got a lot of people talking.”

If George goes make the move he could become a boarder, allowing his parents and siblings to remain in London.

Like her elder brother, six-year-old Princess Charlotte currently attends Thomas’s in Battersea.

Prince Louis, aged three, goes to Willocks Nursery in Kensington.

After attending Ludgrove both William and Harry were educated at Eton, one of the UK’s most prestigious private schools.

The Cambridges have strong family ties to Berkshire, with Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton living in the county.

They reside at Bucklebury Manor, a Grade II listed, mansion with seven bedrooms.

Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex also have a residence in the county, at Bagshot Park.

Both Prince George and his father attended England’s Euro 2020 match with Germany, on June 29.

A historic win for England; followed by victories over Ukraine and Denmark, means the country will experience its first major tournament final since 1966 on Sunday, against Italy.

Both the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expected to attend, William in his capacity of FA president.

According to one royal expert George “begged” his father to take him to the Germany match.

Speaking to OK! Duncan Larcombe, author of ‘Prince Harry: The Inside Story’, said: “George idolises his dad.

“That’s why we saw him looking so smart in his suit – he really wanted to dress like William.

“William would never have normally taken him to the football because it was an official outing in his role as president of the FA, but George absolutely begged to be allowed to come along.”

Mr Larcombe added George is a “pretty big character” who had “twisted his parent’s arms” before the match.

It is not known whether the Prince will accompany his parents to Sunday’s final at Wembley.

Earlier this month William and Harry unveiled a statue of their late mother, Princess Diana, in the gardens of Kensington Palace.

The ceremony was a scaled-down affair due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Harry flew in from California for the occasion, spending several days in isolation under coronavirus rules.
