The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s chosen Christmas card image for 2021 features the family of five during a trip to Jordan. The snap, dating from the Cambridges holiday to the country during their children’s half-term break, was shared on social media last week – much to the delight of royal fans.
In the snap, Kate, 39, opted for a holiday-appropriate olive green dress with her hair in curls.
Her husband Prince William, also 39, wears a khaki polo shirt and shorts and sits beside six-year-old Princess Charlotte.
The young princess wears a checkered floaty blue and white dress with plimsolls.
While on Kate’s side, eight-year-old Prince George wears a casual camouflage polo and beige shorts.
Three-year-old Prince Louis sits on a fluffy rug on the floor in front of his parents, while wearing a striped blue and white polo.
Dr Lillian Glass, an internationally-renowned body language expert analysed the image for Express.co.uk.
She noted that George, third in line for the throne, looked “very happy and comfortable” in the snap.
She also pointed out how Kate positions her arm around her son in the photo, which shows she is a “supportive” mother.
She told Express.co.uk: “Kate is very supportive of George literally having his back.
“His genuine warm smile with eyes crinkled cheeks raised and teeth showing indicates he is very happy and comfortable.
“This is the most genuine smile we have ever seen of George indicting that he is indeed very happy.
“He leans into the picture showing he is engaging and present.”

The image was met with appreciation from royal fans when it was shared last Friday, with many being quick to compliment William and Kate on their choice of photograph.
Only a few images of the royals as a family of five have been released so glimpses of the children are rare.
As a result, many were also keen to point out how much the children have grown, with user No.soy.caro writing “Charlotte, George and Louis are so big” and another user, Sampower, adding: “Ok so like baby George is a teenager now.”
Fans of the Cambridges were also quick to notice that the three children bear resemblance to other members of the family.
Instagram user jadedwings_said: “George is his daddy’s twin!”, while Iva_roa added: “George is really turning into William. So handsome!”
While, another, with the user Jisews wrote: “Handsome Prince George looks like his great-great-grandfather George VI.
“Lovely Charlotte looks like the Queen. Darling Louis looks like his grandpa Middleton.”
The image was released by Kensington Palace and shared on the couple’s social media accounts.
The image was accompanied with the caption: “Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year’s Christmas card.”
