Every year to mark the festive period, members of the Royal Family including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 39, release a royal Christmas card. The greeting typically includes a new photograph but also a sweet message for warm wishes for the year ahead.
In recent years, the image for the Cambridges’ card has included all the members of the family – often in more relaxed clothing that you’d usually see them in.
Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge typically don’t bring eight-year-old Prince George, six-year-old Princess Charlotte and three-year-old Louis along for royal engagements.
However, the festive snap often shows a glimpse at the personalities of the royal children and gives an insight into the lives of the family of five.
As the festive season approaches, Prince Harry, 37, and Meghan Markle, 40, may decide to take a leaf out of Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge’s book by sharing an adorable family snap.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped away from royal duties in March 2020, to start a new life in California.
The couple had a daughter in June called Lilibet Diana, who shares her moniker with the Queen.
While residing in Montecito, the couple appears to have made privacy a top priority and have only shared select details about Lilibet, and her two-year-old brother Archie.
Despite their step away from royal duties, the couple appears to have continued the tradition of sharing a photograph for their annual Christmas card.

Harry and Meghan could choose to share the first photo of Lilibet in a similar way to their previous cards in order to celebrate their first Christmas as a family of four.
Their festive greeting released in 2020, shows the Sussex clan as a family of three before baby Lilibet was born.
The holiday tableau appears paintlike in its medium and depicts Meghan, Harry, Archie, and two of the family’s dogs.
The Sussex family are gathered outside a children’s playhouse, decorated with a poinsettia on one side and a miniature Christmas tree on the other.

A spokesperson for the family said at the time: “The original photo of the family was taken at their home earlier this month by the Duchess’s mother.
“The small Christmas tree, including the homemade ornaments and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays.”
The greeting marked the third annual Christmas card since the couple married in 2018.
In 2019, Harry and Meghan shared a black-and-white image that features a close-up of Archie’s face, with Meghan and Harry out of focus in the background.
The card was branded with the Sussex Royal logo, which has since become defunct following their departure from the Firm.
The greeting on the front of the card in gold lettering reads: “Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from our family to yours”.
The image is one of just a few of Archie that was publicly shared prior to their step away from duties.
The couple’s 2018 card, released just a few months after their marriage, featured a black-and-white image of the pair from their wedding reception.
