Since his royal departure in 2020, Prince Harry has sparked ongoing controversy with various comments towards The Firm and accusations he has made against certain members of the Royal Family. Speaking on Sky News, royal author Tina Brown claims that the Duke of Sussex is “continuing” Diana’s legacy by “throwing hand grenades”.

Speaking to journalist Beth Rigby, Ms Brown said: “Harry was the real, kind of, unsettling surprise.

“In a way, Harry has, sort of, continued his mother’s legacy, essentially, of throwing hand grenades”.

She added: “I think that’s what they found so destabilising is that Harry, they don’t quite know when another one of the guns is going to go off.

“Which is what we’ve been seeing, well, for the last four, five years”.

There have been ongoing tensions between Harry and the Royal Family for years, but these have escalated since his exit in 2020.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced, via their official Instagram account, that they intended to “step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family”.

The couple declared that they wanted to “work to become financially independent”, all while “continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen”.

They said they planned to “balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America”.

They also planned to continue “to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages”.

Prince Harry was ’most popular’ of royals says Tina Brown

In the statement, the couple said: “This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born”

Their announcement to step down was made in January 2020, the year before the birth of their daughter.

Just a year after the couple stepped down as working royals, they sat down for a “bombshell” interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The tell-all interview was televised and watched by millions across the globe.

The couple spoke to Oprah about their relationships with other royals and spoke candidly about how being in ‘The Firm’ had affected their mental health.

They spoke about how an unnamed member of the family made comments about “how dark” the skin colour of their unborn son would be.

Harry, also, commented on how his father and elder brother “are trapped” in the Firm.

In the Oprah interview, Harry said: “My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that.”
