Harry and Meghan Markle left the Royal Family on March 31 this year. After the former Sussex royals departure, a tell-all biography has revealed that Harry and Prince William have had a strained relationship since Meghan and Harry started dating. Now royal commentator Duncan Larcombe has revealed how Harry struggles with his public image.

Mr Larcombe revealed in an interview he met Harry for a drink in 2008.

The pair met following an inquest into Princess Diana’s death, where Mr Larcombe recognised signs of “unresolved anger” in the former royal.

Mr Larcombe added: “Harry once told me that he really resents the perception that William’s the sensible one while he’s the loose cannon.

“He said there were times when it was actually Harry giving William advice.”

Mr Larcombe added it seemed Harry was “never able to shake that feeling of resentment of not feeling normal either”.

He also said that Harry was “absolutely furious” that Prince Charles’ advisors put out a statement on the inquest into Diana’s death, and claimed Harry struggled with a lack of control in his life.

Mr Larcombe said: “That was a sign to me that he has an inbuilt, unresolved anger about having no control of what’s said.

“This desire to control his own destiny has always been there.”

Mr Larcombe’s interview with OK! magazine followed a new tell-all book called ‘Finding Freedom’.

The book by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed that Harry and William had drifted apart when the Duke of Cambridge warned his brother about his relationship with Meghan.

Harry reportedly became enraged when William told him not to rush into a relationship with “this girl”.

The biography quoted a friend of Harry’s, who said: “Harry could see through William’s words. He was being a snob.”

Mr Scobie and Ms Durand suggested William didn’t mean to insult Harry with his remarks.

They said: “William wanted to make sure the American actress had the right intentions.

“After all, these are two brothers that have spent their whole lives with people trying to take advantage of them.”

Mr Larcombe added in the interview that William’s suggestion was not offensive.

He said: “It’s perfectly legitimate for William, as future king, to suggest this to his brother, but sadly Harry interpreted his advice as an anti-Meghan attack.”

He also said later in the interview: “It’s a shame that no one has said to him, ‘Your brother wants what’s best for you.'”

Mr Larcombe also described Harry and William as “the royal version of the Gallagher brothers”.

He added: “Just as we’re still waiting for Liam and Noel to hug and make up, we want Harry and William back on the royal stage together.”
