Prince William’s stubbornness combined with Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah may have dealt a fatal blow to the brothers’ links, according to royal biographer Penny Junor. She said: “Part of me thinks that the relationship is possibly irreparable.”

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, she added: “We know how determined William can be and Harry and Meghan have not only trashed his wife but accused the Royal family of racism.

“It’s the most damaging thing that anyone could say [about] anyone else.

“It is hard to see how they come back from this.”

Ms Junor also said the Duke of Sussex has “put a bomb under William’s future”.

She added: “At the moment Harry seems to have taken ownership of the whole story.

“He is calling the shots on what this family is all about and invoking Diana.

“But what he’s actually done is effectively put a bomb under William’s future.

“He’s done such damage to his family.”

Harry made several references to his mother, late Princess Diana, during his two-hour-long landmark interview with Oprah.

The Duke said his mother’s inheritance hugely helped him after the Royal Family “cut him off financially” in the wake of Megxit, adding: “And without that, we would not have been able to do this, so touching back on what my mother would think of this, I think she saw it coming.

“I certainly felt her presence throughout this whole process.”

The Duke also compared his family’s plight and royal exit with his mother’s, saying: “You know, for me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must’ve been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago.”

The Royal Family is still reeling in the wake of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Their first sit-down chat since Megxit lifted the lid on the Sussexes’ relationship with Harry’s closest relatives.

The Duke of Sussex told Oprah his relationship with Prince William was one of “space” at the moment.

He also said: “I love William to bits. He’s my brother. We’ve been through hell together.

“I mean, we have a shared experience. But we… you know, we’re on… we’re on different paths.”

Prince Harry had previously touched upon his rumoured feud with Prince William in October 2019, while carrying out a whirlwind tour to Africa with Meghan.

Asked by ITV’s broadcaster Tom Bradby to set the record straight on his relationship with the Duke of Cambridge, he said: “We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and, as I know, he will always be there for me.”

During the interview with Oprah, Prince Harry also said he “feels let down” by his father Charles who, the Duke claimed, stopped taking his calls after having discussed twice with him his Megxit plans in late 2019.

Harry said: “There’s a lot to work through there, you know?

“I feel really let down, because he’s been through something similar.

“He knows what pain feels like, and this is… and Archie’s his grandson.

“But, at the same time, you know, I… of course I will always love him, but there’s a lot of hurt that’s happened.

“And I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship.”

Meghan also dismissed reports she had made Kate cry in the run-up to her wedding in May 2018 saying the opposite had happened, adding the Duchess of Cambridge had since apologised for leaving her in tears.

Moreover, the Sussexes claimed “concerns” were raised while the Duchess was pregnant over “how dark” the colour of Archie’s skin would be – an issue Meghan said was discussed in tandem with conversations on the child’s title and entitlement to security.

Earlier today, CBS journalist and friend of Meghan Gayle King revealed Prince Harry spoke with both his father and Prince William over the weekend.

These talks, the journalist claimed, were “unproductive” but the royals “are glad they at least started a conversation.”
