The Duke of Sussex landed the new role for the mental health start-up company, BetterUp Inc. back in March this year. But as the acronym “CHIMPO” has already drawn in mockery in Britain, Harry has been left humiliated as the phrase is Japanese slang for “penis”.

On the Japanese news website, SoraNews24, several people commented on the new acronym, mocking the Duke if he ever travelled to Japan and used the phrase.

One person said: “Imagine if he came to Japan and introduced himself as a ‘chimpo’ to officials?

“I’d love to see their faces!”

Another person added: “It doesn’t matter what age you are, the word ‘chimpo’ always raises a smile.”

While a third reader said the news would make “junior high school boys happy”.

This is not the first time Harry has been mocked for his new role in the Silicon Valley start-up company.

Earlier this month, Royally Obsessed podcast hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discussed the Duke of Sussex’s latest moves outside the Royal Family.

Ms Bowie told listeners: “When I saw that his title would be ‘Chief Impact Officer’ I kind of laughed and was like ‘is this a joke?’

“We’ve seen a lot of headlines about Elon Musk’s official title at Tesla being the Techno King.

“And his CFO is the Master of Coin, which is a Game of Thrones thing.

“So it’s like kind of silly and very Silicon Valley.”

She added: “I was like ‘this is a joke right’ but it’s real.”

In an article on the company’s website, Harry explained why he decided to join the team: “I’ve personally found working with a BetterUp coach to be invaluable.

“I was matched with a truly awesome coach who has given me sound advice and a fresh perspective.

“And because we believe in strengthening our own mental fitness, our entire Archewell team also has access to BetterUp coaching.

“As BetterUp’s first Chief Impact Officer, my goal is to lift up critical dialogues around mental health, build supportive and compassionate communities, and foster an environment for honest and vulnerable conversations.

“And my hope is to help people develop their inner strength, resilience, and confidence.”

This new role came after Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family.

They moved to California for a more private life and in a bid to become financially independent from the Firm.

Since stepping down, the couple have signed lucrative deals with Spotify and Netflix.

Harry travelled back to the UK last week following the death of his grandfather, Prince Philip, and attended his funeral without Meghan, who was too pregnant to fly.

It is believed the Duke of Sussex met privately with his father, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince William, in a bid to put an end to the ongoing rift.

The funeral marked the first time Harry and William had seen each other face-to-face since March last year and since Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey last month.
