And Robert Oulds, director of the Bruges Group, believes the Duke of Sussex will have watched Tuesday’s momentous events with a tinge of regret at the fact that he was not at Wembley himself. William’s delight after Raheem Sterling gave England a 75th-minute lead was beamed all around the world, as was the delight of Prince George and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Mr Oulds has criticised Harry and wife Meghan Markle on a number of occasions, most notably in Moralitis: A Cultural Virus, the book he co-authored with Professor King’s College London’s Niall McCrae last year.
As such, Mr Oulds told Express he felt Harry would have felt a “pang of regret” at not being there in person.
He explained: “I think he would have wanted to watch.
“And would have been able to hide away in one of his LA mega mansion’s many rooms to watch the game without being caught by Meghan.”
Mr Oulds added: “Harry would have seen that his home country is open, happy, and united with patriots enjoying a great moment in our sporting history, all respecting our national anthem and honouring the monarchy.
“They were led by his brother that has not forsaken his country.
“The match will have reminded Harry where he truly belongs.
“It’s coming home! Harry should come home too!”
Speaking to Express.co.uk after the publication of his book last year, Mr Oulds said Meghan had turned Harry into a “snowflake”.

He added: “Meghan has turned Harry from a soldier serving his country into a woke warrior.
“The Royal Family and the Monarchy is a key British institution, a crucial part of both our unwritten constitution and our national identity.”
He added: “You might think that Harry must pine for his previous life: the charity work for disabled soldiers, a brilliant tour of the West Indies, his pranks with brother William.
“A prince who acted like one of the lads. But perhaps his mind has been too addled with woke subversion.”
Mr Oulds and Mr McCrae returned to the subject after the Sussexes’ controversial decision to air a video urging Americans to vote in the US Presidential election – something Harry is not permitted to do.
The pair told Express.co.uk: “The latest video by Harry and Meghan, ostensibly urging people to vote in the forthcoming US presidential election, is naked campaigning for the Democrat Party.
“The royal couple urge voters to reject ‘hate’, clearly referring to their bete noire Donald Trump.
“The House of Windsor should act swiftly, stripping Harry and Meghan of their royal titles.”
England’s victory, which was rounded off by a goal by captain Harry Kane, set up a quarter-final clash with Ukraine in Rome tomorrow.
Should Gareth Southgate’s men emerge triumphant, they will return to Wembley for the semi-final against the winner of the game between the Czech Republic and Denmark – with William likely to be in attendance once again.
Harry was in the UK yesterday for the unveiling of a new statue of mother Princess Diana on what would have been her 60th birthday – but has since returned to California.
