Harry celebrates his 37th birthday today and will reportedly celebrate with his wife Meghan Markle, and two kids Archie and Lilibet. Meghan is expected to make the birthday special for Harry, having written in her now-closed blog The Tig in 2016: ”My mom always said that birthdays are your own personal New Year. “You own chances to make resolutions just for yourself and what you prognosticate for your year ahead.”

It is the Duke of Sussex’s second birthday since he and Meghan made the unprecedented decision to step down from the Royal Family last year.

Since then, there have been reported tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals, that allegedly widened after Harry and Meghan’s bombshell two-hour CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.

The couples’ other ventures, including massive Spotify and Netflix deals and Harry’s soon-to-be-released memoir, have also caused reported rifts in the Firm.

In the couple’s interview with Oprah, Harry described his relationship with William as one of “space” and that the pair were on “different paths” while reiterating his love for his brother.

Yet, a decade earlier Harry was the Duke of Cambridge’s best man for his wedding to Kate, and reportedly delivered an “emotional” speech paying tribute to the brothers’ mother Diana.

The Mirror claimed in 2011: “There was barely a dry eye as Harry turned to William and told him ‘Our Mother would be so proud of you.’”

One guest told the publication: “Harry only said a few words, but it was emotional.

“The entire room burst into applause.”

William and Kate married on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey, with the ceremony broadcast in over 180 countries.

The Mail Online claimed at the time that: “Harry told the couple’s friends and family that he loved Kate ‘like a sister’ and how the story of the couple’s romance ‘inspires’ him.”

The publication also stated that several guests claimed Kate was “very emotional and touched” by Harry’s speech and that she “even shed a tear”.

Harry allegedly said: “William didn’t have a romantic bone in his body before he met Kate.

“So I knew it was serious when William suddenly started cooing down the phone at Kate.”

One partygoer told the publication while leaving Buckingham Palace: “Harry said William was the perfect brother.

“It was exactly how you would expect a best man’s speech to be.

“He cracked loads of jokes about William – he called him a ‘dude’ several times.

“He kept coming back to it, saying ‘What a dude’.

William reportedly declared his wife “my rock” in his emotional speech, given to the 300 guests at the reception.

One guest told The Mail: “It was received with cheers and shouts of hoorah.

“William was very gracious and thanked absolutely everyone for making the day come together.

“He thanked everyone from the florist to the chef.”
