Prince Louis proud of reaching important milestone, says mum Kate ‘He’s no longer a baby’

The royal tot was last summer spotted toddling around his mother’s wilderness garden at the Chelsea Flower Show alongside Prince George, six, and four-year-old Princess Charlotte. And it seems Louis has become even more confident on his little feet since then, proudly telling Kate “Mummy, I’m balancing!” The Duchess of Cambridge confided in a Bradford woman this week about her youngest child when she and the Duke of Cambridge visited a number of projects to promote cohesion in the West Yorkshire city.

Kate, 38, and Prince William, 37, popped into one of the city’s Khidmat Centres, where they met Jo Broadbent who has recently completed an “Older Yet Wiser” course for grandparents who care for their grandchildren.

The Duchess struck up a conversation with Mrs Broadbent and revealed how proud Louis felt after he had mastered the art of balancing.

Mrs Broadbent told Hello magazine: “I asked how her children were.

“Kate said Louis had started to tell her ‘Mummy, I’m balancing’ and she said it was really nice to see him turning into a little boy from being a baby.

“She’s obviously very proud of her children.”

The grandmother also chatted to the mother-of-three about early years development – one of the Duchess’ passions.

And it seems the mother-of-three’s grasp of the topic made an impression on Mrs Broadbent.

She praised Kate for taking a “great interest” in the development of babies, toddlers and young children, saying she appeared to be “quite knowledgeable” in that area of learning.

Kate and William’s official engagement on Wednesday was the first time the pair were seen together since the royal crisis broke last week, with the bombshell news that Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, were stepping down as senior figures in the family.

William, 37, was snapped arriving at and leaving the crunch family summit at Sandringham on Monday.

Kate was also pictured looking tense as she drove thorough the gates of Kensington Palace earlier this week.

The couple made a number of stops on their visit to Bradford, which is one of the UK’s most diverse cities, on Wednesday.

Kate and William were met with a rapturous welcome when they arrived at Bradford’s Centenary Square, with crowds of well-wishers waiting to hand them bouquets of flowers and get selfies with them.

They visited MyLahore restaurant where they learned about the British Asian cuisine on offer.

After meeting students from Bradford College taking part in an apprenticeship programme, the royal duo were offered some tasty treats.

The parents sipped on mango and kulfi milkshakes, with William commenting on how his concoction was “delicious”.
