The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are celebrating their ten-year wedding anniversary on Thursday. Kate has been widely praised for the manner in which she has taken to royal duties in the decade since she married Prince William. The Duke is said to have grown increasingly proud of his wife over the years, especially at how well Kate has adapted to the role of senior working royal.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine, palace insider Ms Nicholl said: “I think William is enormously proud of how well Kate has adapted.
“But she did have the benefit of time and experience.
“He was a great mentor.
“I remember being told by a palace aide how Kate had gone into Buckingham Palace when the engagement was announced and said ‘right, what do I need to know’.

“‘Tell me everything, help me learn the ropes so I know what to do when I’m on engagement.’
She added: “I think the other thing that William did which was very clever was introduced Kate to us to the press.”
The insight into the royal relationship comes as Harry and Kate took on a greater prominence following a period of great upheaval for the Royal Family.
Following Meghan and Prince Harry’s decision to quit life as working royals, the Cambridges have stepped in to fill the void.

As a result of Kate’s hard work and the public have increasingly warmed to the idea of her in royal of a future Royal Consort.
ITV presenter Nick Dixon shared the result of a poll on Good Morning Britain that showed that strong support for Kate taking on the responsibilities of Queen when called upon.
He said: “A new poll shows that more than three-quarters of Britons believe that the Duchess of Cambridge will make a good Queen when the time comes
Me Dixon put this down to the fact “throughout their 10 years of marriage, the Duke and Duchess have fully embraced their royal duties and have raised awareness about issues such as mental health and conservation.”

William and Kate were married on April 29 2011 in a lavish ceremony held Westminster Abbey watched by millions of royal fans across the world.
Today, to mark the historic occasion the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge releases a series of romantic portrait photographs.
The stunning snaps were taken by royal photographer Chris Floyd at Kensington Palace this week.
The official pictures show a happy William and Kate hugging and smiling as they mark their anniversary.
