Beatrice is expecting her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi – a property developer and founder of interior design company Banda. She is also the first grandchild of the Queen to become a stepmother as her husband has a son from another relationship called Wolfie. Beatrice’s love life has not always been easy. In 2005, she began a relationship with David Clarke, a Virgin Galactic businessman, which lasted for 10 years and ended “amicably” after he was given an ultimatum by Beatrice.

According to royal insiders, Beatrice told Dave that she wanted to get married and if he did not want to do so, they would have to go their separate ways.

Dave reportedly declined and the relationship ended.

It is not the first time however, that the 32-year-old Princess has experienced rejection.

In 2016, a royal source indicated that the sisters felt their cousin Prince William was deliberately trying to outshine them.

During the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations the source claimed that his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, got special treatment.

The royal insider further explained that the sisters were “stars in their own right”, but that sentiments of the Queen’s birthday were focused on the future kings.

The insider told the Daily Mail: “Royalty is all about pecking order, often in a cruelly blunt sense, and it is Kate who has all the toys and the position.

“Despite being the only young ‘blood Princesses’ Beatrice and Eugenie have been reduced to walk-on parts in Royal Family life.

“It particularly hurt when Kate did solo engagements with the Queen during the Diamond Jubilee. They felt snubbed.”

The source also added that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were “ushered by a flurry of flunkeys in front of royal fans”, and Beatrice and Eugenie “were left to go walkabout on their own.”

The source said: “The Cambridges were the obvious ‘big ticket, box-office draw in neon lights’ for the Queen’s special day.

“Few egos are small enough to cope with this kind of thing.”

Now that Prince Harry has quit senior royal life and members of the Firm are being asked to take on more prominent roles, perhaps this could be the moment that the York sisters have been waiting for.

Prince Charles could decide that the girls should take on more responsibility so that it can fill the gap of ‘Megixt’ – term coined when Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced that they were leaving the Royal Family.

Behind the scenes however, Beatrice is in her own whirlwind romance with her husband.

Princess Beatrice rekindled her friendship her future husband at Eugenie’s wedding in 2018.

According to source the pair were friends that had reunited and the reconciliation quickly transformed into a relationship, and marriage in 2020.

Beatrice announced she was expecting her first child later this year on the same day Harry and Meghan were marking their third wedding anniversary.

This move, reportedly, was because Meghan announced her pregnancy on Eugenie’s wedding day.
