Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s baby daughter was born on Satuday night, Buckingham Palace said in a statement. The child, whose name has yet to be revealed, was born at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

The statement released by the Palace read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

“The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces.”

The announcement went on to say the grandparents and great-grandparents of the royal baby, including the Queen have already been informed of the arrival of Beatrice’s daughter.

It read: “The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news.

“The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.”

The latest royal baby is the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild and the second to have been delivered following the passing of Prince Philip.

The statement also sweetly mentioned Edoardo’s son from his relationship with architect Dana Huang – Christopher Woolf known as Wolfie.

It read: “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf.”

Princess Beatrice, who rarely uses her Twitter account, also confirmed the arrival of her daughter by sharing a statement on Twitter.

She wrote: “So delighted to share the news of the safe arrival of our daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

“Thank you to the Midwife team and everyone at the hospital for their wonderful care.”

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, publicly congratulated on Princess Beatrice and Edoardo for their happy news.

Retweeting the statement shared by Buckingham Palace, Clarence House wrote: “Congratulations to Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on the happy news of the birth of their daughter.”
