Princess Eugenie, 30, and her husband Jack Brooksbank, 35, welcomed their first child to the world on February 9 and have been settling into parenthood at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. The couple shared their son’s full name with fans in a sweet Instagram post on Saturday, revealing they had called him August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

While the new parents are understood to be in a bubble with Eugenie’s parents Prince Andrew, 60, and Sarah Ferguson, 60, who live nearby, Eugenie’s beloved sister Princess Beatrice, 32, lives in London and will have been unable to travel to Windsor during lockdown.

Beatrice and Eugenie are extremely close and Bea will be dying to meet her new nephew as soon as she’s allowed to.

Beatrice lives with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 36, in an apartment at St James Palace where the couple are understood to have been spending lockdown.

While Beatrice will have been unable to see her family for weeks, things may be finally looking up for the princess as Prime Minister Boris Johnson prepares to outline a roadmap out of lockdown on Monday.

Mr Johnson has been finalising the details of the Government’s lockdown exit plan over the weekend but reopening schools and allowing families to mix are thought to be key priorities.

According to Government sources, options being considered include allowing two households to mix outdoors in the coming weeks.

Mr Johnson has said his top priority will be the re-opening of schools and the Government has long planned to get all pupils in England back to the classroom on March 8.

An easing of lockdown restrictions could allow Beatrice to finally make the trip to Windsor to spend time with Eugenie and little August outdoors.

While Beatrice and Edoardo do not have children of their own, Beatrice is a stepmother to Edoardo’s son Wolfie whom he co-parents with his ex-partner Dara Huang.

Beatrice is said to be a doting stepmother and has done her best to make Wolfie at home.

Following her wedding to Edoardo last summer, sources close to the couple revealed how Beatrice had taken to being a stepmum.

A friend of Beatrice’s told the Telegraph’s Camilla Tominey that she “dotes” on Wolfie and talks about him “all the time.”

They added: “She’s ensured there are loads of pictures of him up in their house, so he feels like he has two families, and they do get on well.

“She has instigated a lot of that, rather than Dara.”

During the summer, one onlooker reported seeing Beatrice collect Wolfie from nursery school.

They said: “Beatrice could have been any other mother on the school run.”

The onlooker added: “She welcomed the little boy out of school with a big hug and then took his bag while he set off on his scooter.”

“It was quite touching how close they seemed. She clearly dotes on the little boy.”

One way Princess Eugenie could introduce her son to the wider Royal Family is by having him christened as soon as possible.

Some christenings are still allowed to go ahead under current COVID-19 restrictions as they can count under communal worship exemptions.
