Princess Beatrice married property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in secret last week, after their royal wedding was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Several pictures of the stunning ceremony have been released, and her younger sister Princess Eugenie has spoken out on the occasion for the first time today.

Princess Eugenie congratulated her sister on Instagram, sharing several gorgeous photos from the wedding.

The royal even made a joke as she sent her well wishes to the newly weds.

Eugenie wrote: “Couldn’t Bea happier (get it)… ⁣

“What a complete joy and privilege to watch you, my beautiful big sister, walk down the aisle to dear Edo.

“I am so proud of you and I’m so excited to support you in the next chapter of your life.

“We are going to have so much fun together. ⁣

“Happy wedding day to you both xxxx”

Beatrice and Edo decided to hold a private ceremony with their parents and siblings last Friday, after their May wedding had to be postponed due to coronavirus.

The couple had a small ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor, with the Queen and Prince Philip attending.

Four official photographs have been issued of the happy couple, which shows the pair leaving the chapel through its flower-covered archway.

Beatrice and Edo are also pictures outside the entrance to the Chapel with Beatrice’s grandparents, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh standing several spaces away – in accordance to social distancing rules.
