Princess Eugenie royal baby news: Where is pregnant princess spending lockdown?

Princess Eugenie's Frogmore situation discussed by experts

Princess Eugenie, 30, and husband Jack Brooksbank, 35, are expected to welcome their royal baby any day. Last autumn the couple announced their baby was due in “early 2021.” While the expectant parents have a cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace they are currently spending lockdown with Eugenie’s parents – Prince Andrew, 60, and Sarah Ferguson, 60, a royal expert has claimed.

Ahead of Christmas Eugenie and Jack were reported to have taken up residence in Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry’s Windsor home Frogmore Cottage.

However, a matter of days after they were said to have moved in, more reports claimed the couple had moved out again.

While it was understood they may have returned to their Kensington home Ivy Cottage, it has since been claimed they are currently living with Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson at the Royal Lodge in Great Windsor Park.

Eugenie is close to her parents and sister Princess Beatrice and may have chosen to bubble up with her parents in order to spend the Christmas holidays together.

Discussing how the royals were spending lockdown on ABC royal podcast The Heirpod, host Omid Scobie told guest Maggie Rulli: “You know it’s a different time.

“Funny you ask about where royals are at the moment, we saw something in the news a few weeks ago about how Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank had moved into Frogmore Cottage.

“That Harry and Meghan had opened the doors to the home to the couple and then mysteriously there was a report that said they had moved out.

“And no one really knew exactly where they were.”

Mr Scobie added: “And I saw information today that the couple have actually been spending their holidays with Sarah Ferguson, ‘Fergie’, and Prince Andrew at their Windsor Lodge home, on the Windsor Estate.

“So I imagine that’s probably where they will remain up until much later in the year.”

Eugenie and Jack may have made the decision to move in with Andrew and Fergie ahead of Tier 4 restrictions coming into place last month.

Given that England is currently subject to a national lockdown it seems likely they will remain there until after their royal baby is born.

The Government is due to review the current lockdown in mid-February but the restrictions are expected to last through to March.

Where will Princess Eugenie give birth?

Details surrounding royal pregnancies including the due date and gender of the baby are usually kept secret.

While Eugenie has not confirmed where she plans to give birth the royal may follow in her mother Sarah Ferguson and fellow royal Meghan Markle’s footsteps.

Both women chose the private Portland Hospital as their place to give birth and Eugenie could do the same.

The private Lindo Wing at St Mary’s hospital in central London is also a popular choice among royals.

The Lindo wing is where Kate, Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her three children and Princess Diana had Prince William and Harry.

As a non-senior royal, it is highly unlikely Eugenie will pose for official press photos with her newborn baby.

Instead, the Queen’s granddaughter could choose to share some personal snaps on Instagram, given that she is an avid social media user.
