Angela Levin told talkRADIO that the Duke of Sussex’s departure from the monarchy has left a void in the Queen’s life. Ms Levin also stated that the monarch is a wonderful comedian when she is relaxed and that Prince Harry often shared jokes with her.

Ms Levin said: “She is tough, strong and she has this incredible sense of duty that has been there ever since she was made Queen.

“She loved Harry, they were full of fun together.

“The Queen is a wonderful comedian when she is relaxed.

“They laughed and had jokes that Prince Harry loved.

“He has got that extra sparkle that endeared him to so many.

“Without that, it must be a big gap in her life.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in March 2020.

Last week the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would not be returning to the monarchy.

Princess Anne ‘would make a fantastic Queen’ says biographer

On Monday morning, the Queen was urged to remove Prince Harry from the Royal Family’s line of succession in order to prevent a scenario where the Duke of Sussex could become king.

Prince Harry is currently sixth in line to the throne behind his father Prince Charles, his older brother Prince William and the Duke of Cambridge’s three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Royal commentator Hugo Vickers told Good Morning Britain that in the future if a “terrible disaster” happened to the Cambridge family Prince Harry would become king.

Mr Vickers said: “The problem with Prince Harry is that he number six in line to the throne.

“So if some terrible disaster happened to the Cambridge family, he would find himself as King.

“The question you then have to ask yourself is do you want someone who has voluntarily opted out of royal life suddenly being called back to take that position?

“I don’t see how that can work.”
