Veteran royal snapper Arthur Edwards, who has been photographing the Royal Family for decades, said Prince William’s wife has done a “great job” in her Duchess role. He added that Kate is “just perfect” for her future Queen Consort position.

Mr Edwards, who has been snapping the royals with his camera since the 1970s, told ITV’s The Royal Rota podcast: “I’m a kind of a fan of her now – a fan of not just photography, but the way she’s totally just made that role so brilliant.

“She’s done a great job being the Duchess of Cambridge.

“And one day she’ll be the Princess of Wales, and one day she’ll be the Queen, and she’s just perfect for it. Just perfect.”

Mr Edwards also praised the Duchess’s photography skills.

He revealed his favourite picture that keen amateur photographer Kate has taken was the shot of William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis which was released to mark the Duke’s birthday last June.

Mr Edwards said: “I’m a great admirer of Kate’s photography, she’s grasped it very quickly.

“The picture that I love most that she’s done is William and the three children on the swing.

“I would have killed to have taken that picture.”

The royal photographer added: “Everybody’s laughing at their mum, and you know that only a mother or a father could get that picture, and it’s an absolute winner.

“Charlotte with her arm around daddy, you know, ‘daddy’s girl’.

“It’s a lovely picture, I was so full of praise for her on that.”

The adorable photo was taken by Kate at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

William grins proudly as he is surrounded by his three children on a swing in the grounds of the residence.

Little Louis sits on his lap, while Charlotte leans on her father’s right shoulder and George stands behind him.

The family are casually dressed for the snap, with Louis in a pair of shorts, Charlotte in dungarees and George in a green polo shirt.

Kate regularly releases pictures she has taken herself to mark milestone family occasions such as birthdays – delighting royal fans.

The Duchess became patron of the Royal Photographic Society in 2019 – taken over the role from the Queen.
