Queen Letizia pays touching tribute to Covid victims in sombre first 2021 appearance

Queen Letizia attends Pascua Militar ceremony

Queen Letizia attended Spain’s Pascua Militar ceremony as her first appearance of 2021. Pascua Militar is a military parade that takes place every January 6 in the Royal Palace of Madrid. Letizia joined her husband King Felipe VI, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Minister of Defence Margarita Robles to preside over the event.

The Queen’s attire drew attention as she chose to go with a muted look.

She wore a long black skirt, a Carolina Herrera black Fur Collar Cape and a designer white blouse.

Hola! magazine dubbed it the royal’s “most sombre look to date at this event”.

They also claimed that the black theme was “most likely a sign of mourning for the people who died due to COVID-19”.
