The Duke and Duchess and their family attended a special pantomime performance of The National Lottery’s Pantoland, the caption read.

It added that it “was held to thank key workers and their families for their phenomenal efforts this year”.

The caption added: “Before the performance, The Duke delivered a short speech to thank those across the country for the sacrifices they have made to keep the country operating and to support their communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“During the interval, The Duke and Duchess also met a small number of key worker families to hear more about their experiences over the past year, before popping backstage to thank the cast and crew.”

A new picture of the Cambridge family has also been revealed.

The image has not been released by Kensington Palace and it is not known when or where it was taken.

It shows Princess Charlotte looking into the camera lens with a cheeky smile while she sits on the Duchess of Cambridge’s lap.

The royal family, like the rest of us, is preparing for a different Christmas this year.

The Queen, 94, and the Duke of Edinburgh, 99, have announced they will have a quiet Christmas at Windsor Castle instead of traveling to their Sandringham estate in Norfolk as they usually do.

It means a break in traditions for the first time since 1987.

Princess Anne and her tight-knit family could dine together as they all live on the grounds of the Gatcombe Park Estate in Gloucestershire.

Princess Anne, 70, lives at Gatcombe House with her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, 65.

Her children and the queen’s eldest grandchildren, Zara Tindall, 39, and Peter Phillips, 42, also live on the estate with their families.
