An insider claimed the former Suits actress is “willing to forgive” the Royal Family for their alleged mistakes following Prince Philip’s death on Friday. Meghan, who is heavily pregnant, will not be attending the funeral on Saturday following advice from her doctor.

Following this news, an poll – which ran from 10am to 7pm today – asked: “Should Royal Family apologise to Meghan Markle?”

Out of 25, 719 votes, a staggering 98 percent (24,976) said the Firm should not apologise to Meghan.

Just two percent (625) said they should, while 118 people said they don’t know.

One person said: “Meghan may regard herself as a victim and she is… a victim of her own making.

“Everyone dislikes her now.

“So no the Royal Family do not need to apologise for her vindictive comments!”

A second reader said: “Meghan has trashed the Royal Family, the Nation – above all showing her disrespect for the Queen at a time of great sadness for her with Prince Philip dying – the Oprah interview, is frankly unforgivable.

“I do not want to see her on any public event in the UK ever.”

Someone else said it should be Meghan who apologises to the Royal Family and dubbed her a “psychopathic narcissist”.

A fourth reader added: “No definitely not, this week is supposed to be mourning Prince Philip, not all about Meghan Markle.”

Someone else said the Royals “may forgive her” but the British public “never will”.

Another person said: “She attended her baby shower and travelled from UK to New York just months before she had Archie.

“What’s the difference this time?

“I guess it’s just a perfect excuse to not attend because she knows she’s not welcome and she doesn’t have a face to be with the Royal Family after she betrayed them.”

A seventh person simply said: “Who does she think she is??”

Another reader added: “No she should be the one apologising.”

Meghan and Prince Harry quit royal duties in March 2020 – a move dubbed Megxit – for a new life in America.

And last month the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plunged the Royal Family into a fresh crisis with their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview.

In the interview, the couple made several shocking allegations including claiming there were conversations over the colour of Archie’s skin before he was born.
