Royal horror: Prince Joachim of Denmark rushed to hospital following blood clot on brain

Prince Joachim was admitted to hospital on Friday evening following a blood clot in the brain. The Palace confirmed the 51-year-old underwent successful surgery at the University Hospital of Toulouse in France. Prince Joachim remains in hospital and his condition is stable.

The Danish Royal Household also confirmed  her Royal Highness Princess Marie is by his bedside. 

In a statement the Palace said: “His Royal Highness Prince Joachim was admitted to the University Hospital of Toulouse, France, late last night.

“The prince was operated on immediately afterwards for a blood clot in the brain and the operation was successful.

“The condition of His Royal Highness is stable today.”

Prince Joachim is currently sixth in the line of succession to the Danish throne.
