Royal split: How Meghan and Harry loss pushed William and Charles together – ‘New focus’

In an interview with OK! Magazine, Ingrid Seward, a royal expert, has discussed the bond between Prince William and Prince Charles. Ms Seward said: “Charles has been incredibly supportive of William in recent weeks because he has such a lot going on now and their mutual respect for one another has grown immensely.

“I think losing Harry the way he has will have encouraged Charles to focus on William.

“Charles tends to jam-pack his diary but he’s now making a real effort to pencil in time for William and will also hope to make time to see more of his grandchildren – Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte.”

The revelation comes after the Cambridge’s were seen out on their first public engagement with Prince Charles and Camilla for 9 years.

The couples visited the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre in Loughborough last week to meet with facility personnel and patients.

At the DMRC, which Prince William opened in 2018, patients who serve in the armed forces are treated for mental and physical conditions.

The adapted gym and specialised swimming pool are used to provide long-term rehabilitation for patients.

Inside the centre, Prince William and Prince Charles were spotted playing wheelchair basketball in a touching display that showed just how close the pair have become in recent months.

Ms Seward described the heartwarming “father and son” moment as reminiscent of William’s past carefree interactions with his brother Harry.

“Charles and William share a great sense of humour. They were joshing in the same kind of way as William and Harry would have done in the past – I expect Harry would have been tipping up the wheelchair!”

Kate, who cheered on her husband’s eventual success was in fits of giggles at Charles’s humorous comments.

Despite reports that the future of the monarchy lies heavily on Kate’s shoulders, her big grin didn’t leave her face as she chatted comfortably with Camilla.

Kate was also seen chatting passionately with patients and discussing the importance mental health plays on rehabilitation.
