Royal warning: Prince Andrew given dark warning from expert – ‘Only going to get worse’

Mr Epstein hung himself whilst awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges. Andrew was seen walking with Mr Epstein after his release from prison for sex offences.  Former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole told Kirsty Wark: “Lawyers in America are asking the Prince to give depositions, that is the beginning of the process, it would be far better for him to address these matters right now.”

Andrew has denied any involvement in the allegations regarding Mr Epstein.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “The Duke of York has been appalled by the recent reports of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged crimes.

“His Royal Highness deplores the exploitation of any human being and the suggestion he would condone, participate in or encourage any such behaviour is abhorrent.”

A legal spokesman for the Prince had previously said:  “This relates to proceedings in the United States, to which The Duke of York is not a party.

“Any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue.

“It is emphatically denied that The Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts. Any claim to the contrary is false and without foundation.”

Mr Cole added: “Outraged denial will not work, answers are needed, the truth is required, this is a very serious matter.

“It’s going to become more serious, it’s going to become worse for the Prince and worse for Buckingham Palace.”

Andrew is the third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

When he was born he was second in the line of succession behind older brother Prince Charles, now Prince of Wales.

The birth of Charles’ children and their children has pushed him down to eighth.

He is now also behind Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Andrew was previously married to Sarah Ferguson and their daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are immediately below him as ninth and tenth in the line of succession.

Eugenie who got married last year has recently become the first royal to make a podcast as part of her work with an anti-slavery charity.

Her elder sister, Beatrice, is the subject of her own royal marriage speculation.

Beatrice’s boyfriend is Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Mr Mapelli Mozzi’s father, Alessandro competed for Britain at the 1972 Winter Olympics as an alpine skier.

For a decade, Andrew worked with the British government’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills as Special Representative for International Trade and Investment.

The role had previously been held by his mother’s cousin Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent.

His time in the position came to an end in 2011.

Andrew is also the Chancellor at the University of Huddersfield.
