During the James Bond premiere on Tuesday night, the Duchess of Cambridge wowed audiences with a stunning gold cape dress and many compared her outfit choice to Princess Diana’s shimmering metallic dress at a Bond premiere back in 1985.

Kate’s bombshell outfit came after the Duchess was spotted wearing gym gear as she played a game of tennis doubles with Emma Raducanu.

But Dr Tessa Dunlop has claimed it was not a coincidence we have had “sporty Kate and Bond girl Kate” in the same week Meghan Markle and Prince Harry completed a short tour of New York.

Dr Dunlop claimed Meghan’s clothing choices were more “conservative in comparison with Kates”.

During their whirlwind visit of New York, Meghan was spotted wearing a Christian Dior Lady D-lite bag, which was named after none other than the late Princess of Wales.

The Duchess of Sussex was also seen wearing a Cartier Tank watch at the Global Citizen Live event.

This watch was the same that was given to Princess Diana on her 21st birthday, Dr Dunlop wrote in Mail+.

Dr Dunlop wrote: “While Kate styles herself as a queen-in-waiting, Meghan is making sure we all know she is taking a different (rival?) path, one informed by the ultimate royal outsider, Diana.

“Well may you pooh-pooh the idea of clothes and accessories carrying such clout, but it’s worth remembering that the historical precedent was set long ago.”

Dr Dunlop went on to compare Meghan with Wallis Simpson and her late mother-in-law as all three left the “royal box”.

She wrote: “Like Wallis and Diana before her, Meghan is no longer in the royal box and unlikely to wear a golden gown (or a provocative lobster), but we can look forward to seeing much more of her and her wardrobe.”

The royal expert continued: “If, like Diana, Meghan intends to ‘do good’ without an HRH title, unlike Diana – who fell victim to the press – she is hell-bent on controlling her image.

“The paparazzi can get back in their box and, if Britain doesn’t like it, too bad.

“Meghan is a global star who calls the shots.

“Small wonder that, back in Blighty, Kate resorted to Bond-style, gold-plated armoury – the mission was ‘dress to impress’ and she didn’t disappoint.”

Following Kate and Prince William’s appearance at the James Bond premiere, a body language expert claimed there are “huge differences” between the Cambridges and Sussexes.

Body language expert Believing Bruce claimed: “When we look at the ‘connecting’ nonverbal communication and subliminal gestures that exist between both couples, there is a huge difference between the supportive connection that lies between Kate and William and the submissive connection that exists between Harry and Meghan.

“Between Kate and William we see a high degree of similar behaviours, mirroring if you will.

“From both encouraging each other to take centre stage with gentle touches, downward looks toward each other of vulnerability (think how Diana used to look down…) as well as both being comfortable to take the lead from one another within a conversation.”

“This is most definitely a shared relationship,” the expert said about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

“This is in stark contrast to the submissive behaviours that Harry shows towards Meghan,” Bruce claimed.

“Where William will take a quick look towards Kate, Harry takes longer, almost pausing as if waiting for some type of gesture from Meghan that would resemble a green light, as in he feels he has now permission to do something.

“Also the light touches between Kate and William are replaced between Meghan and Harry by a type of touch called an elongated pat, this is where Meghan puts her hand on Harry but keeps it there.”
