The 61-year-old mother of princesses Beatrice, 32, and Eugenie, 30, welcomed her first grandchild, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, into the world on February 9. This prompted calls for “kindness and respect” from the Duchess, who is known as ‘Fergie’.
She described hopes for her impact on the world in an Instagram video published by property developer Jesmonduk, as revealed by Hello!
The Duchess, speaking ahead of St Patrick’s Day, said: “The smile of a child, that is my legacy.
“And I am just so excited by it because I really believe through my own mental health problems and through what I’ve been through in my life, that now I’m free just to be red-headed and wearing green for St Patrick’s Day, and living my dream.
“And my dream is to bring the smile of a child.”
Fergie and Friends is the name of her Youtube channel on which she reads children’s books.
Speaking to viewers in February, the Duchess said: “I believe everyone deserves respect and kindness, whether you’re just born, like my grandson, or whether it’s when you’re 110.
“Everyone is wise and everyone deserves respect and kindness and a smile.
“Says so much but costs very little.”
She made a sweet reference to her grandson – full name August Philip Hawke Brooksbank – on Mother’s Day.
Sarah also paid tribute to her late mother Susan Barrantes in the social media tribute, writing “You are with me everyday”.
Alongside a collage of photos with Ms Barrantes, she wrote: “To my Mum, you are with me everyday and you would be so proud of your Great Grandson August.
