In a new ITV3 documentary, the Duchess of Cambridge has been praised for the “love and happiness” she brings Prince William, as well as her “strong” approach to life within the Royal Family. Prince William and Kate have been married for over ten years, and have gradually taken on more responsibilities to support the Queen. The couple are now regarded as two of the most reliable members of The Firm, with Kate “hugely” boosting the popularity of the monarchy.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told the documentary ‘Kate: The Making of a Modern Queen’: “Don’t be under the illusion that she’s a wallflower because she’s not.

“She’s very strong, she’s very confident and I think she has a real clarity of vision, and I think William depends on that hugely, so she has brought a huge amount to William’s life.

“She has filled William’s life with love and happiness and security and I think she’s made him incredibly happy.”

Another royal expert, Emily Nash, continued to say that following the difficult separation between Charles and Diana, Prince William had been reluctant to “repeat that scenario” within this own marriage.

The royal editor for Hello! magazine said: “William and Kate’s marriage is very much a love match and I think they seem incredibly happy together.

“You can see a huge amount of affection between them on engagements, there’s often an arm around one another, looks that they share, and I hope that’s going to last.

“I think they’ve certainly got a fantastic example in the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, and I think because William experienced his parents’ difficult marriage, he’s very keen not to repeat that scenario, and I don’t think that it will ever happen.

“Kate has hugely boosted the popularity of the monarchy.”

Kate Middleton praised for bringing 'relevance' by royal expert

Prince William and Kate had first met during their time at St Andrews University, where they were both students.

The two developed a close friendship, even living together during their second year, before embarking on a romantic relationship.

After an 8-year romance, the couple married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, in a televised service that was watched by hundreds of millions across the globe.

Since then, the couple have welcomed three children together; Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three.

The Cambridges celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary earlier this year, releasing a sweet video that showed them playing in the sand dunes and toasting marshmallows with their young children.

Over the last year, the Cambridges have dramatically increased their public profiles and have played an active role in boosting community spirits during the pandemic.

In the last few months, Kate has launched her Royal Foundation for Early Childhood, and is expected to take on two of Prince Harry’s royal patronages next month. The Duke of Sussex was the former President of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League, but these are widely tipped to be given to Kate ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

Since returning from her summer holidays, Kate has been busy visiting the Lake District, RAF Brize Norton and spent time with US Open Champion Emma Raducanu.

Prince William has also been occupied with the launch of his Earthshot Prize, which awards £1million to five winners to work on their solutions to aid the climate change crisis.

The couple will later attend the red carpet premiere of the latest James Bond film, ‘No Time To Die’. The world premiere of the highly-anticipated 007 film will take place at the Royal Albert Hall, with Prince Charles and Camilla also due to attend.
