The Coronation of King Charles is just over a month away, with well-known food and drinks companies already advertising commemorative products released especially for the occasion. Some of the more unusual items include coronation chicken sausages and coffee pods, although aside from the edible treats customers can buy products in Coronation tins so they can remember the event forever.

Over the bank holiday weekend, street parties and celebrations up and down the country are schedule, with some of these foods being a perfect treat.

For anyone hosting a barbecue the coronation chicken flavoured sausages made by Heck would be a good choice, as the recipe combines British chicken with mild curry spice, seasoning and raisins.

The gluten-free and dairy-free sausage will be on sale at Tesco from April 26 to May 16, with the packaging also suitably regal as it is purple embellished with a bejewelled crown.

It will cost £3.20 for a pack of 10, or £2.50 for Club Card holders.

Coffee company Nespresso has also released its own Coronation-themed coffee pods in an exclusively designed sleeve, consisting of their seven bestselling capsules in the UK.

The Jewels of Nespresso collection is limited edition, and will be available from April 13 for both the Vertuo and Original Machines.

Royal fans will no doubt want to get their hand on Nespresso’s Coronation-inspired merchandise – including a mug, coffee towel and tote bag.

To go with the coffee, Biscuiteers have produced hand-iced biscuits in gorgeous bright colours in a variety of royal designs, including the Sovereign’s Orb, sceptre and Westminster Abbey.

The limited edition collection from the award-winning company have been intricately iced by hand and the biscuits come in a special illustrated tin.

Also available on the Biscuiteers website is a tea towel designed for the celebrations, as well as a macaron mini gift box for £28.

Prices for Coronation themed treats start at £7.95.

High street favourite M&S has launched a limited edition collection of Commemorative Tins to mark the Coronation, starting at just £5.

You can pick up a tin filled with either all butter shortbread biscuits or tea bags for a regal tea break

They are both available for a limited time only and the tins can be kept forever as a special reminder of the momentous occasion.

The Coronation of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, with May 8 also a bank holiday across the country.
