King Charles ‘practising Coronation in the palace’
The Royal Family will mark the Coronation with three days of events and appearances during the ceremony at Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace balcony appearance to the Coronation concert and Big Lunch.
Ahead of the celebrations, Express.co.uk asked readers which members of the Firm — excluding King Charles III and Queen Camilla — they wanted to see more of over the festivities.
Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales were voted as the members most readers were looking forward to seeing at the Coronation.
William is expected to pay homage to the Sovereign during the ceremony by kneeling, touching the crown, and kissing his father’s right cheek. Kate isn’t set to have an official role and will be a spectator.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will take part in the Coronation procession and join other working royals on the balcony and will be accompanied by their three children – Prince George, who will be one of the eight Pages of Honour, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
In a poll that ran from 2pm on Thursday, April 20, to 2pm on Thursday, April 27, Express.co.uk asked readers: “Which royal would you like to see more of at the Coronation?”
A total of 2,934 readers responded — the most popular answer being William receiving 30 percent (870 people) of votes cast. This was closely followed by Kate with 29 percent (844 people).
Despite not accepting an invitation, Meghan Markle came in third with 13 percent (369 people). Whereas Prince Harry, who will travel from California to the UK for the occasion, received nine percent (277 people) of the vote.
Many readers were also anticipating seeing the Wales’s children, with four percent (117 people) looking forward to seeing Louis, whereas both George and Charlotte each received two percent, with 68 and 67 votes respectively.
Princess Anne, who will take on the prestigious role of Gold-Stick-in-Waiting, gained the support of five percent (159 people), while Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh received 41 votes.
Other members – Prince Edward, Lady Louise, James, Earl of Wessex and Zara and Mike Tindall – received one percent or less, with 20 people answering “other” and 14 people saying that they did not know.

Dozens of comments were left below the accompanying article as readers discussed who they were looking forward to seeing.
Of the readers who said they would like to see more of the Wales family during the weekend of celebrations, uername Scatterling wrote: “Prince and Princess of Wales, together with their three beautiful children.”
While some picked out Louis. Username nana4 said: “Prince Louis, he’s adorable and funny.”
And username dawn5651 wrote: “O would love to see more of Prince Louis. He is young and cute and he makes me laugh.”
Whereas others thought that the day should focus on the King. Username whateveryousay wrote: “Of course it’s all about Charles. He is the King and it is his Coronation.”
