All those in the car – a man in his 20s, a woman in her 20s, and a man in his 30s – were taken to hospital but died of their injuries after the smash. It happened near a pub in Knotty Ash, Liverpool, at around 12.15am this morning.
Roads in the area remain closed, Liverpool Echo reports.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “We are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Knotty Ash in the early hours of this morning, Monday April 26.
“At around 12.15am, emergency services were called to East Prescot Road, close to the Greyhound Pub, to reports of a collision involving a BMW colliding with the roundabout.
“Their families have been informed and an investigation continues at the scene, including CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries. A road closure is in place between the junction of Eaton Road and East Prescot Road to Blackmoor Drive. The roundabout is closed in all directions.
“Diversions are in place and we would ask motorists to take an alternative route.”
An accident in the same area on Saturday left an e-scooter rider fighting for his life.
The teenage driver was dashed to hospital after a collision with a taxi.
The driver of the cab was uninjured and stopped at the scene to assist police.
