Twenty people injured after 'serious minibus crash' in Cambridgeshire

Around 20 people have been injured following a serious crash in rural Cambridgeshire.

East of England Ambulance Services were called to the scene of the collision on the B1040 Somersham Road, near the villages of Woodhurst and Bluntisham, at about 4.50pm today.

Paramedics say many of those involved have been seriously injured.

More than 20 firefighters are also at the scene, according to Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The crash is thought to have involved two vehicles, including a minibus.

Casualties are being taken to Addenbrooke’s and Hinchingbrooke hospitals, a spokeswoman from EEAST said.

A spokesperson for Cambridge Constabulary said: ‘Multiple people are involved and some are seriously injured.

‘The roads going in either direction at the junction have been closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.’
