Coronavirus: WHO warns pandemic at 'critical inflection point'

A further 445 deaths related to coronavirus have also been reported.

This has increased the total number of people to have died from COVID-19 to 74,570.

From these latest figures, NHS England said 383 people had died after returning a positive coronavirus test result, with the majority occurring on NYE.

Those who died in England were aged beteween 27 and 100, execpt for 11 aged between 36 and 95 suffering from known underlying health condirions.

The new UK-wide data does not include deaths from Scotland, which have not yet been reported by Public Health Scotland.
