The Met Office said that the next few days are likely to witness some sunshine, along with rainfall, frost in some areas and later followed with a few dry weather. The lowest temperature is expected to be recorded around -2 and -6C in Scotland.

Dave Bowers, senior meteorologist with told “A warm front will sweep east across the United Kingdom Sunday and Sunday night with only a few showers in northern England and Scotland as well as over southwestern England and Wales.

“Snow showers will be limited to the Scottish Highlands with little accumulation but causing some icy spots.

“Snow levels will be falling as well but this far out, accumulations look to be light and limited again to the Scottish Highlands.”

According to the weather experts, the warnings related to snow, ice, rain, and even high winds are unlikely through Sunday the 16th.

Mr Bowers added: “A cold front Tuesday and Tuesday night will bring some showers again to northern England and Scotland with snow showers in the Highlands but again very little accumulation.

“The weather between Wednesday through Friday will be mainly dry.

“The next cold front will be later Saturday and Saturday with rain and snow showers in northern England and Scotland along with gusty winds and lower temperatures.”

The latest forecast comes after the UK experienced a “powerful Icelandic low” on Saturday according to Accuweather meteorologist, Jim Andrews.

The lowest temperatures for the entire week will be Sunday night/early Monday morning. Readings of -2 to -6C over interior, northern Scotland. Across northern England, 0 to 4C will be common.

Precipitation will be below normal for the week with long stretches of dry weather.

The weather forecast by the Met Office stated: “Early showers in the west gradually becoming confined to parts of northern England later for Sunday.

“Otherwise sunny spells in the south and east and rain into far southwest England later.

“The outlook for Monday to Wednesday suggests cloud and outbreaks of rain spreading southeast early in the week, brighter in the north on Tuesday.

“Increasingly settled from midweek with overnight frost and morning fog patches.”
