Urgent appeal for 88-year-old pensioner missing for over a week

James Berger, 88, was last seen on Wednesday, September 8, when he got off a bus at the Post Office in Beddgelert, Snowdonia.

Mr Berger is from the Betws Yn Rhos area, around a one hour drive from where he was last seen, and was wearing a maroon jumper and carrying a white carrier bag.

North Wales Police have issued an urgent appeal and are urging the public to help find him.

A force spokesman said: “We have concerns for 88-year-old Mr James Berger from the Betws Yn Rhos area.

“He was last seen getting off the bus at 2pm on Wednesday the 8th of September 2021 outside the Post Office in Beddgelert.

“He was wearing a maroon jumper and was carrying a white carrier bag.

“He is known to be familiar with the area and has previously climbed Cnicht.”
