Watch live as India attempts to land on the Moon

It has been quite a busy few days on the Moon after Russia’s attempt to land at the lunar south pole failed spectacularly, its spacecraft spinning out of control and crashing over the weekend.

Today another country, India, will attempt the same feat with its Chandrayaan-3 lander – and you can watch it take place here.

Coverage of the mission will begin at 12.50pm BST, with touchdown expected around 1.30pm.

The mission took off on Friday, July 14 and – if successful – India will become the fourth country to achieve a soft landing on the Moon, following the former Soviet Union, the US and China.

The world will be watching today as India hopes to succeed where others have failed – so stay tuned.
