Footage has emerged of a man being slapped by his wife after refusing to wear a mask on a flight.
The film, which has only just come to light, shows a packed Manchester to Tenerife EasyJet plane preparing to land when the man starts telling people ‘you’re being lied to’.
His tirade sparks a bust-up in which he’s heard calling his own wife an ‘imbecile’ before being hit and having to be restrained by other passengers.
Towards the start of the film, the man is heard saying: ‘You’re all being lied to, the longer you wear them masks, the longer this goes on.

‘I tell you what, God help you, the longer you wear those masks, God help you.’
His wife tries to calm him and get him to sit down but he continues shouting: ‘Get them off’ and ‘fight back.’
When he’s told to wait by his wife, he shouts back ‘shut up you f**ing imbecile’ before she is heard slapping him.
At this point chaos breaks out as the man appears to try to retaliate before several other passengers get out of their seats to intervene.
Passengers tell each other to ‘get the woman away’ and confront the man, asking him ‘what are you doing?’
After the man is called a ‘coward’, he responds: ‘I’ll fight you lad, I’ll smash your f***ing face in.’
The airline confirmed that police attended the flight due to a passenger ‘behaving disruptively onboard and refusing to wear their face mask’.
It’s the latest incident to have sparked fraught scenes on a flight since the face mask rule was introduced.
A woman was taken off a Belfast to Edinburgh flight on October 18 because she refused to cover her face.
She was filmed coughing at other passengers and yelling: ‘All of you f**k off’ as staff removed her from the plane.
Anti-lockdown protestors were also pictured celebrating after they managed to board a flight to London from Berlin without masks. They claimed they were medically exempt.
The person who filmed the latest footage told MailOnline: ‘The guy was shouting and swearing about the fact we are now having to wear masks and have our freedom and lifestyles restricted.
‘Things quickly escalated from the shouting and all hell broke loose, when his wife slapped him, only for him to retaliate and other passengers intervene.’
An EasyJet spokesperson said: ‘easyJet can confirm that police attended flight EZY1907 from Manchester to Tenerife on 6th September due to a passenger behaving disruptively onboard and refusing to wear their face mask.
‘In line with new guidelines, all passengers are currently required to bring their own face mask for their flight which must be worn during boarding and onboard.
‘easyJet’s cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.
‘Whilst such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously, and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour on board. The safety and wellbeing of customers and crew is our highest priority.’
