China Lands on Moon in First Mission to Grab Samples in 40 Years
China landed a spacecraft on the moon to conduct the first mission to retrieve lunar samples in more than 40 years, the official Xinhua News Agencysaid.
Chang’e-5, which touched down late Tuesday, is preparing for about 48 hours’ work on the moon’s surface, Xinhua said. A lander module is due to collect around two kilograms of material, some of it by drilling underground, and seal it in a container, according to the report.

The touchdown took place on the north of the Mons Rumker in Oceanus Procellarum, also known as theOcean of Storms, on the near side of the moon, Xinhua said, citing an announcement by the China National Space Administration.

Starting Friday, the world’s largest retailer is removing the $35 minimum on online orders for Walmart+ members to receive free next-day or two-day shipping for most items, the company said in a statement. WASHINGTON (REUTERS) – United States President-elect Joe Biden is considering naming a White House “Asia czar” on the National Security Council, a move that signals the region’s importance in tackling challenges from China, the Financial Times newspaper said on Tuesday (Dec 1).
Mr Biden’s administration would appoint the “right people and structures” to promote US interests and values alongside its allies, it said, citing a transition team official.
Mr Biden’s transition team did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

A staggering number of small businesses across the city of Boston and state of Massachusetts have shuttered their doors, according to reporting by Boston 25 News.

The number of small businesses open in Boston has decreased by 44 percent since the start of the year, according to data compiled by Harvard researchers.
Certain businesses have reportedly been hit the hardest, including restaurants, hospitality and retail.

Avon Rubber FY Adj. Pretax Profit Rises – Quick Facts
Avon Rubber Plc (AVON.L) reported profit before tax of 0.5 million pounds for the year ended 30 September 2020 compared to 8.7 million pounds, previous year. Earnings per share was 441.3 pence compared to 45.8 pence. Adjusted profit before tax increased to 28.2 million pounds from 22.2 million pounds. Adjusted basic earnings per share was 76.5 pence compared to 67.2 pence.
Fiscal year revenue was 168.0 million pounds, up 30.8% from previous year. Organic constant currency growth was 0.1%, for the year. Orders received were 160.8 million pounds compared to 129.8 million pounds.
The Board recommended a final dividend of 18.06 pence per share which together with the 9.02 pence per share interim dividend gives a total dividend of 27.08 pence, up 30% on last year. The final dividend will be paid on 12 March 2021 to shareholders on the register at 12 February 2021 with an ex-dividend date of 11 February 2021.
