Police are currently undertaking an operation in Katoomba and are advising people to avoid the area.

Police and fire crews are blocking off Lurline Street.

A police spokeswoman said she was unable to provide any further information while the operation was ongoing.

Man fatally shot in downtown Manhattan

A 36-year-old man was fatally shot in lower Manhattan on Monday night, police said.

The man was struck once in the abdomen at around 8:40 p.m. on the southeast corner of 3rd Street and Avenue C in the East Village, the NYPD said.

He was taken to Beth Israel hospital and pronounced dead.

Three men were seen fleeing the scene, cops said. An investigation is ongoing.

Several locals called 911 to report the shooting, including one person who said the victim had been on a bicycle when he was struck, law enforcement sources said.

Neighbors reported hearing between 6 and 10 shots being fired, according to the sources.

Mets fire GM Jared Porter over sexting scandal

The Mets fired GM Jared Porter on Tuesday morning after a sexting scandal was brought to light.

“We have terminated Jared Porter this morning,” owner Steve Cohen tweeted. “In my initial press conference I spoke about the importance of integrity and I meant it. There should be zero tolerance for this type of behavior.”

Porter, who was hired by Mets team president Sandy Alderson this offseason, sent the texts to a foreign female reporter in 2016 when he was running the Cubs scouting department.

Black Sabbath To Reissue Classic Ronnie James Dio-Fronted Albums

Black Sabbath have announced deluxe reissues of their albums, Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules, released in 1980 and 1981, respectively.

Both albums feature Ronnie James Dio as the lead vocalist, as co-founder and original frontman, Ozzy Ozbourne had been fired from the band in 1979.

Dio parted ways with the band in 1982 and went onto found his namesake band, Dio. He later returned to the band in 1992 for the album Dehumanizer.

Live versions of the title tracks of both albums are now available to be streamed on digital outlets. The deluxe set is due out on March 5.
