Zhao Lijian, spokesman with the foreign ministry, made the comments during a news briefing.

CNN Fact-Checker Makes Blistering Conclusion About Donald Trump’s Dishonesty

CNN’s fact-checking reporter Daniel Dale showed how President Donald Trump’s “dishonesty is getting worse” in the final stretch of the 2020 election.

Dale noted in an article for the CNN website Monday how Trump had told “at least 66 separate false and misleading claims” over the weekend at public events and rallies in Florida, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada.

The president also repeated some of those 66 lies on multiple occasions, said Dale.

“For fact checkers, the period from Friday through Sunday was one of the most challenging of Trump’s entire presidency,” he lamented.

Trump’s dozens of untruths centered on the coronavirus pandemic, his Democratic rival Joe Biden, the economy and his own record, said Dale.

And while the president’s penchant for lying is well-known (The Washington Post in July reported that Trump had told a whopping 20,000 lies during his time in office), Dale said Trump’s weekend of falsehoods was “an egregious stretch for the President, no matter how much he was talking.”

US Reports 41529 New COVID Cases, 315 Deaths In Last 24 Hours

The United States reported a significantly lower number of coronavirus deaths and infections Monday, when compared to the figures last week.

With 41,529 new cases reporting in the last 24 hours, the national total increased to 7804336, as per to Johns Hopkins University’s latest data.

A total of 315 deaths reported nationally in the last 24 hours is just one third of what was reported in most of the days last week. With this, the total number of COVID casualties in the U.S. increased to 215086.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said coronavirus infection in the country is on a trajectory of getting worse and worse. “And that’s the worst possible thing that can happen as we get into the cooler months,” he told CNN.

Hospitalizations due to coronavirus infection rose nationwide, with record-high levels in 10 states, according to data from the COVID Tracking Project.

Johnson & Johnson announced that it is suspending the advanced clinical trial of its experimental vaccine following an unexplained illness in one of the volunteers.

GOP Strategist Names The Only Way To Save The Republican Party From Donald Trump

Stuart Stevens, a top GOP strategist in the 2012 election, on Monday rued the “complete collapse” of the Republican Party during the presidency of Donald Trump.

And Stevens suggested to CNN’s Jake Tapper the only way forward for the party was to “burn it down and start over.”

“I don’t think we’ve ever seen in American politics a complete collapse of a party as the way the Republican Party has collapsed,” Stevens told Tapper on “The Lead.”

“If somebody held a gun to my head and said ‘tell me what it is to be a conservative and a Republican and an American today, I’d just say ‘shoot me, I have no idea,’” he continued. “There’s no coherent theory of government. There’s no moral center to it.”

Stevens ― who before the 2016 election warned Trump was “dangerous” and “someone who would embarrass America” ― later lamented the Republican politicians who criticized Trump before his election victory but have since failed to stand up to him.

He also likened the descent of the GOP to “the collapse of communism in the Soviet Union where what the party said it was for and what it was for was just so disparate it collapsed.”
